Edmonton Is Canada’s #3 Place to Live

Edmonton placed third nationally for 2026, with the ranking citing affordable housing, 325 sunny days yearly, and the city's Festival City reputation.
The ranking highlighted Edmonton's avg. home price at ~$392K, while annual wages typically ranged from $50K to $60K, supporting its affordability appeal.
Edmonton's strong economy also helped its standing, with major employment across agriculture, oil and gas, construction, manufacturing, Real Estate, and retail sectors.
Lifestyle advantages mattered too: a major mall, shopping and dining options, entertainment, and outdoor activities all supported Edmonton's quality-of-life appeal in the ranking.
The ranking assessed job market, affordability and quality of life, and Edmonton stood out by pairing modern healthcare, accessible housing, and festivals.
